It has become very common if the condition occurs in a woman during pregnancy affect fetal health. But apparently the study revealed that the condition of women before
pregnancy had been able to influence his future in the future.
Studies
conducted by the University of Haifa, Israel, showed that stress levels
in women prior to conception and pregnancy can affect her child's
ability to handle stressful situations later. This is because stress before pregnancy may cause genetic changes in the structure of the female egg.
Although these results obtained through the object of mice, but
scientists believe the conclusion of a study published in the journal
Biological Psychiatry can be applied also in humans.
"Similarity
systemic in many respects between humans and mice raises questions
about the influence of transgenerational in humans. If until now we see
evidence only of behavioral effects, have now found evidence of its
effect on the genetic level," said Hiba Zaidan, one of the researchers
involved, such as quoted by the Daily Mail, Sunday (02/02/2014).
The researchers focused on a gene known as CRF-1. This gene is associated with the body's stress system and express themselves in the brain when it is under stress. The researchers then used a 45-day-old female rats, which is parallel to adolescence in humans.
Some
mice were then given the atmosphere that could make it stress, which
include changes in temperature and the daily routine for seven days. After that they compared with the control group of mice, which were not stressed at all. These mice were mated and pregnant two weeks later.
In the first part of this study, the researchers examined the egg cells of mice stressed even before they become pregnant. They found that at this stage there is increased expression of CRF-1 gene. For the second part, the researchers examined the brains of newborn rats, before its parent influence. In this stage, there is also increased expression of CRF-1 gene in the brains of newborn rats of parent stress.
While
in the third stage, the researchers again put stressful situations in
all mice, both the mother experiences stress before pregnancy or not. It
appears that the expression of CRF-1 among kids mice is dependent on
three factors: gender, stress experienced by the parent; and the stress experienced by the child itself.
"This
is the first time we showed that the response of genetic to stress in
rats associated with the experience of holding them, even before they
become pregnant. The fact that in fact today many women are stressed
even before they get pregnant, I think it is important to re-do the
research to what extent The phenomenon affects in humans, "said Zaidan.
